Planning for Abundance in Your Business

Uncategorized

It’s officially the holiday season and in addition to running our businesses we are cuddling up with our favorite Nancy Meyer’s movies! Recently, on our 1000th rewatch of The Holiday we couldn’t help but be reminded that even when everything seems like it is falling apart that it is actually the start of something REALLY great! We want to take a page out of Nancy’s book and embrace the crazy in order to create businesses that not only run smoothly but that we LOVE! So this holiday season just like Nancy’s movies, we want your business to be filled with warmth, joy, and, yes, a touch of chaos. Let’s revisit a few of our favorite movies for inspiration!

Begin by setting clear goals for the holiday season. Now we aren’t suggesting that you start a very complicated plot to get your divorced parents back together but we are asking you to think about what you want to achieve! Is it boosting sales, expanding your customer base, or simply spreading holiday cheer? Define your goals and let them guide your planning process. The first step to achieving a goal is to define it! So take some time to write it out and brainstorm how to get there.

Now, it’s time to look at your holiday content.

Just like Nancy Meyers pays attention to every last detail in her movies, you need to ensure your content is top-notch. From engaging blog posts to eye-catching social media visuals, plan out a content calendar that resonates with your audience and captures the holiday spirit. If you need some help then we highly recommend you sign up for the Drewe and Kate Newsletter which features a social media planning guide each month!

It doesn’t have to be super serious all of the time! Don’t forget to sprinkle some holiday magic across your website and online presence. Infuse your branding with festive elements, update your website banners, and consider offering special holiday promotions or discounts.

Remember, Nancy Meyers’ movies are all about creating a spectacularly layered experience, and the same applies to your business. We wouldn’t be cheering so hard at the end of When Harry Met Sally if their romance had been a success at the beginning! Your audience wants to take the ride along with you and get to know you! Share some things that make your business unique during the holiday season or behind the scenes to let your audience connect with you. Show them the best way to order at a restaurant!

Engage with your customers in a personal and heartfelt way.

Just like how Miles wrote Iris her own theme song in The Holiday to have the characters connect on a deeper level, you can create a sense of camaraderie with your customers. Send out personalized holiday emails, engage with them on social media, and show genuine appreciation for their support. Don’t be afraid to be TRULY THANKFUL and CHEESY!

Finally, take a cue from Nancy Meyers’ attention to detail and make sure your logistics are in order. From inventory management to shipping deadlines, plan ahead to ensure a smooth operation during the busy holiday season. Your clients want a smooth experience that doesn’t leave them questioning where they stand with you.

Design your business with care and attention to detail, foster meaningful connections with your customers, and create a memorable holiday experience. And remember, just like Nancy’s movies, your business deserves a happy ending.

Cheers to a holiday season that’s abundant, joyful, and filled with the Nancy Meyers touch! 🥂
